Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about grip socks and pilates accessories.
Do I need grip socks for pilates?
Yes — most studios require grip socks for hygiene and safety. They create traction on the reformer carriage and studio floor, helping you hold positions accurately and protecting you from slipping during exercises.
What is the difference between crew and low-rise grip socks?
Crew grip socks sit above the ankle and are the most popular style for reformer pilates — they offer more warmth and ankle support. Low-rise socks sit at or below the ankle for a more minimal feel. Both styles provide full-sole grip coverage.
How many pairs of grip socks do I need?
If you practise 2–3 times per week, 3–4 pairs is ideal. This gives enough rotation for each pair to fully dry between washes, extending their life and keeping them fresh.
How do I wash grip socks without damaging the grips?
Turn them inside out, wash on a gentle cool cycle (30°C max), and air dry flat. Avoid fabric softener — it coats the fibres and reduces grip effectiveness over time. Never tumble dry.
Can I wear the same grip socks for barre and pilates?
Yes — a quality full-coverage crew or ankle grip sock works perfectly for both disciplines. If you primarily do barre, an open-toe style is a nice addition, but one versatile pair is sufficient for both.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes — we offer free shipping on all orders over $75. Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days and arrive within the estimated delivery window shown at checkout.
